As for advice about a relationship

Hi Peter

I went on holidays to China and I met a girl, Sho Sho. She's going out with another boy but I like her. She is very funny and interesting. I don't know what to do...

I met her in a bar. When I was in China I usually went there. We started talking a lot about our lives, and then she invited me to dinner in a restaurant. She said that she prefers me... but she doesn't know how to finish with his boyfriend.

I've been thinking about things a lot since then. I don't know what I have to do if she finishes with his boyfriend an sks me out. What do you reckon?

Halloween

HALLOWEEN HISTORY

Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints.

Originally Halloween was a pagan festival, around the idea of linking the living with the dead, when contact became possible between the spirits and the physical world, and magical things were more likely to happen. Like most pagan festivals, long ago it was absorbed into the festivals of the expanding Christian church, and became associated with All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day, which eventually fell on November 1.
The celebration of Halloween survived most strongly in Ireland. It was an end of summer festival, and was often celebrated in each community with a bonfire to ward off the evil spirits. Children would go from door to door in disguise as creatures from the underworld to collect treats, mainly fruit, nuts and the like for the festivities. These were used for playing traditional games like eating an apple on a string or bobbing for apples and other gifts in a basin of water, without using your hands. Salt might be sprinkled on the visiting children to ward off evil spirits. Carving turnips as ghoulish faces to hold candles became a popular part of the festival, which has been adapted to carving pumpkins in America.

The day is often associated with the colours black and orange, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I represent an organization called "Stop the Destruction of Parks" (S.D.P.). We know that Morrison's Company are going to build a motorway into the park and we're planning to stop it.

In our opinion, motorways are unnecessary here because we already have many. Most of the people think like we do. If the company build a motorway, the people won't in the beautiful park. In addition, residents will complain because of the cars' noise.

We are very angry about this, and we will organize a protest. For this reason, we are sending some images of the park. If you want to support us, please join in our organization.

Yours faithfully,

William

An Opinion

In my opinion, the students don't study enough because our educational system isn't being effective. They don't work hard and they're unmotivated.

There are many causes for this. All classes are in the same level, for this reason good students can't progress. Usually in the school works parents help them, and as I see it, they become dependent and the work is useless.

It seems to me that the class average is about 6,5 (adding the bad students). My class don't get good marks (especially in maths). And I've always thought that they prefer languages than science.

In conclusion, is it clear to me that the educational system must improve. Clearly the problem is in the distractions. Surely if you are more interested in a subject, you get good marks.

Write about TV highlights

The best highlight on this week's TV was the documentary "the world of the black holes". It was an interesting program because they said that we will travel in time (but it is only an hypothesis).

The "coconut's chaos" is worth watching because it is a parody of action films. For example, the main character drops a coconut and become a superhero. His objective is to help coconuts of the world.

Finally, something which also caught my eye was the talent show "kamazuke". It was a strange program because a chinese persons must pass difficult tests, but was an exciting stuff!
